When Raquel moved back to her home town of Oliveira, she immediately started working in the family’s farm. Her father was always a source of inspiration and always offered her with guidance and support.

Few years later, Mr. Ronaldo decided to divide his real estate among his children and Raquel was entitled to continue his legacy at Fazenda Cerrado Grande in the Campo das Vertentes region.

At first, Raquel was hesitant and overwhelmed with the responsibility of keeping up the life long work of her father. Besides, she was a young woman, newly graduated and without much experience in a field dominated by men. The support she received from coworkers at the farm was fundamental so she could become more confident and gradually introduce her management, improving operational processes and shifting thefocus to specialty coffees.

Nowadays, Raquel’s dream is that her children will love coffee as much as she does so that she can pass the farm to the next generation in the future.
